Hello to my first follower. I would gladly have your babies!
In other news. I went to training tonight.... and bloody loved it.We did some sweet gi chokes from the back. If I post this video....
We did the middle one, which is pretty basic, but putting the 'non-choking' hand on the other collar is so important. A detail that I always forget. I don't know about anyone else, but I always find it so difficult to finish from the back. Sometimes I feel it's so much easier to defend the choke than to finish with it. I'm always struggling to get my arm under the neck, or if I have one arm under the neck they just grab the other arm so I can't lock in the mata leon.... but then I roll with a decent purple/brown/black and as soon as they have my back it's game over and I literally have no idea how they sink the choke in, or how I could have defended it.
Anyway we learnt a few good chokes, but they were good in the technique part, I didn't really get to try them in the sparring, even though it was positional from turtle guard. Hopefully writing about them here will help remind me of them so I can try them next time I take someone's back and am struggling to finish. Yet another selfish reason for my blogging.
Peace.
